Los Angeles (part 3), Hollywood, Beverly Hills and the Griffith Observatory
August 15, 2011
This is the last part of my pictures from Los Angeles: we spent the afternoon driving around in Hollywood and Beverly Hills, and quite frankly, pictures don't do justice to these places. The following stand as proof that I was there!
Oh, look at that across the street! It's Paramount Pictures.
Peter took a picture of a star as I ... [more]
Los Angeles (part 2) and Long Beach
August 15, 2011
I didn't really plan to go to the beach much during my road trip, so I completely forgot to bring my swim trunks. However, I couldn't miss out on the beach: I had come all the way to the Pacific coast, I had to touch its water before I headed back east! Because, well... it was for symbolic ... [more]
Los Angeles (part 1), the RMS Queen Mary and the Soviet B-427 Scorpion
August 15, 2011
We arrived in Los Angeles fairly late at night, so Justin had a lot of fun doing long exposure shots in the traffic:
The next morning, we went downtown to have my car looked at by the dealership.
I dropped my car off at Felix and we went walking downtown for about five hours. They couldn't fix my problem and ... [more]
The drive from San Francisco to Los Angeles
August 15, 2011
Here are some pictures of the scenery from the highway between San Francisco and Los Angeles!
Stay tuned for the next few posts of our time in Los Angeles! It was one of the strongest highlights of my trip: if one day I move to the United States, it might very well be there! [more]
The Computer History Museum

Silicon Valley is where the digital boom happened. The Computer History Museum was an obvious stop, being (probably) the largest and most important of its kind in the world.
The exhibits featured everything from log books to modern computers, in a somewhat chronological order.

Here is a Pixar supercomputer from 1986. They probably used it to ... [more]
The fellowship of San Francisco
August 15, 2011
Good news! Justin Vaillancourt, a friend from back home, decided to come and join me on my journey through the US! He was to fly to San Francisco, where I would pick him up, and we would travel together until we reached Moncton.
Here's a few pictures of the highway scenery between Seattle and Sacramento:
This plane has nothing to ... [more]
A quick pass through the borders and through Seattle
August 15, 2011
This post is ridiculously short because I simply didn't spend any time in Seattle. I easily could have, but some new plans came up that forced me to hurry down to San Francisco. More about that in another post!
I found this monument to be quite nice:
I had to buy a new pair of shoes in Seattle because my ... [more]

Driving up in BC where the mountains are thirsty
August 4, 2011
After my 5 hour horseback riding tour in Lake Louise, I went straight to Vancouver on a 10 hour drive. I spent the night there, got myself a spare tire for the road and left for Prince George.
This is quite typical of the highways in southern British Columbia:
I saw a plane flying by, so I took a picture ... [more]
